Mary MacKillop Enhancement Centre
The Mary MacKillop Enhancement Centre (MMEC) is a special educational support unit. The MMEC staff support students with special learning needs to access the curriculum to the best of their abilities. These students are identified through either internal or external assessment. Students can be referred for assessment by either staff or parents.
Students who meet the criteria for funding from the Catholic Education Office are given aide support across the curriculum from Years 4 to 12. Curriculum modification may occur in conjunction with the subject teacher and be specified in Individual Learning Plans. Regular Program Support Group meetings occur to ensure the student’s learning is appropriate to their abilities and sequential in nature.
The Mary MacKillop Enhancement Centre staff facilitate the Literacy Support Program and the Numeracy Support Program for students who meet the criteria for this extra assistance.
