Alumni
At De La Salle College we believe that to ignore the past is a mistake. Our college is rich in history and traditions that stretch back more than ninety years, there is so much from which our students can learn and gain in wisdom and inspiration.
All students are automatically made Life Members of the De La Salle Old Collegians’ Association as they leave the College. They are invited to attend their first reunion, ‘Year 12 Revisited’ towards the end of their first year as new Alumni.
Every year we hold a number of reunions, ranging from the five year reunion to decade reunions of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years and a Pre 1960 reunion for all those older members of the Old Collegians’ Association and their wives. This gives former students a sense of belonging to the Lasallian community and a point of contact in our extended family.
The bi-annual College magazine, Lasallian Roll Call is mailed to every Old Collegian for whom there is a current address. The magazine contains current school news, interesting accounts of former students and details of forthcoming reunions and other events.
The annual MOFS (Mothers of Former Students) gathering takes the form of either a luncheon or a dinner, and gives the mothers a chance to stay connected to the College.
The centenary of the presence of the De La Salle Brothers in Australia was celebrated in 2006. There were a number of events in both Sydney and Melbourne which were attended by many Old Collegians, current students and their families, and past and present members of staff.
